The service that you have to stop and start is a little wierd at a first glance…
When you look in your windows services you see a few different services that have coldfusion in the name,
and you dont know which one to pick… also you know that jrun, is part of the package so you consider starting or stopping that…? it’s kind of confusing… i initially started restarted coldfusion by using cfstart.bat, and cfstop.bat…. i’ve now talked to other developers because of my new position at http://www.cfwebtools.com and they informed me on which service to restart or stop… or whatever…
Get to your Administrative Tools through the control panel or the mmc in windows xp… Click on Services then click ColdFusion MX 7 Application Server and you can restart/stop/start or whatever you would like to do… thats the service that controls the others… if you start or stop the others your probably looking at some other issues, and you would probably want to do a physical reboot on your machine….
One thing i did find from this is, cfstart.bat, and cfstop.bat… when you stop coldfusion using this batch file, and start it up using the other batch file (located in “D:\CFusionMX7\bin” or where ever you installed coldfusion… you can’t close the dos window that comes back up… otherwise your web things won’t work…
The very interesting part that i have found by accident in this window, is that when using flash forms, and
Enough from me…
